Suspension noise has gone

Featured Replies

I had drop links replaced to help to cure a graunching noise from the suspension when driving over speed humps and mini roundabouts. The noise was cured but returned a few months ago. A few nights ago I was slowly driving over a speed hump and a heard a 'twang' from under the car, rather like a spring being released. Well the graunching noise has almost disappeared and I wonder if the MacPherson strut was not fully seated in its cup after the drop links were replaced. Still it has saved me a few bob if the problem has self-corrected.

Would still have it checked out. A friend of mine said he heard a noise come from the front of the car the other month, I told him to get it checked out, but he said, everything feels ok driving.

Spoke to him last night, he said he took car in for a service on Monday, they told him the off side front spring was in two half's. Just goes to show.

Yes I will. Car is only 3 years old with 18k on clock. Some component may be displaced. I had a broken spring on Multipla which was not noticed until MOT
