unlocking octavia 3 with dead battery

Featured Replies

Hi, just a quick question and quick answer please.

if for any reason my Octavia suffered a completely dead battery would it be possible to get into the car ?

Fortunately I don't have that problem and hope I never will but I have a very good imagination,

I don't want any technical details just a yes or no is sufficient, ( I don't want any useful info to go to potential car thieves )

Thank you for taking the time to read this.

Best regards to all. George

Yes

Yes prising off emergency key access on the drivers door  , but until you get some charge into the battery you won't be able to get under the bonnet. Bad design for RHD conversion - you need to be able to open the "passenger" door to be able to pull the bonnet release.

A friend of mine had this problem when starting his car again after it was parked up for a few months due to ill health. Breakdown company trickle charged through the 12v power socket until central locking could be operated

thanks to everyone that replied, am very grateful.

i shall endeavour to read the manual, its always a last resort for me, first I have to find it!

Hi Mac thanks for the comment, I will let Brisky know if i decide to leave and give thanks to all who have been so good to me with advice,

I can't foresee it happening in my lifetime though

Best regards to all, George
