Colour Edition no LED DRL's

Featured Replies

Hi, looking for some advice, my daughter took delivery of a new 66 plate Fabia Colour Edition last week and I've noticed that it doesn't have LED Daytime Running Lights, just the standard Running lights you would find on the SE model. the dealer is already being evasive trying to tell her that it's only the Monte Carlo that has LED's. The brochure info says colour edition, SE-L and Monte Carlo have them.

M just wondering if she's been sold an SE that was specked up to have the black roof and alloys without the other Colour Edition spec. Anybody come across this before? Just wondering where to go with this now?

My SE L has LED DRL's as standard,it's a 16 plate.

Does it say it's an SE L on the sales paperwork? If so,you need to go back and argue about it.

Thanks, it's a Colour Edition, but the the brochure and anything I can see online states this model should have LED DRL's. Just wondering if any forum members have a Colour Edition, seems odd, as I said the only thing I can think of apart from a factory error is she's been sold an SE model by 'mistake'.

My colour edition has got them as well. Any Skoda Fabia above and including the 'Style equipment' should have LED DRL.

"The Colour Edition Fabia is based on mid-spec SE trim, and on top of that car’s rear parking sensors, DAB radio and Bluetooth, it brings LED running lights, cruise control and 16-inch alloy wheels for £540 extra. Sat-nav is a reasonable £500 option, too".

Went to the dealer today, definitely an SE instead of the colour edition. Furious isn't the word, but they are getting back to us tomorrow, did mention replacing with a new vehicle, but we'll see. Breach of contract in any case.

Sorry but if based on an SE and it is an SE what is missing.

As to Skoda Brochures and especially Skoda UK Brochures or configurators they are just terrible.

Probably best putting on Sidelights & Headlights and have lights front and rear rather than DRL's that should be made Illegal after BREXIT except on Sunny Days . Just IMO obviously.

Thanks ofski but disagree completely, the Colour Edition is a separate Model listed on their website and brochure, how else does one select and decide upon the make model and spec of a car?

As I said before it's on all the paperwork and they've supplied an SE, A completely different model. The SE-L is based on SE but with additions just the same!

What is missing then that you missed noticing until you spotted the lack of LED DRL's?

?

Could you explain please, did your Daughter order a Factory Build Colour Edition, or was it a car already built & in stock and advertised as a Colour Edition?

Just had a play on the configuration on Skoda site (on mobile so it's a bit clunky)

Se model DRL led is an option

Colour edition is STD

My 66 plate colour edition has them

Ofski it was a Colour Edition that was in stock somewhere in the country. That's the model she wanted and that's what was supposed to have been ordered and supplied. I didn't miss noticing anything, my daughter picked it up, I spotted straight away it didn't have LED DRL's or cruise control when I first saw it a couple of days later.

Thanks malcster I had a mess about with the configuration too and your right.

Hopefully the dealership will sort it out, I'm in no doubt we have a cast iron breach of contract for goods not as described.

Just hope we get the resolution we want, don't want to go down the rejection route but will do if necessary.

No Cruise Control or the LED's is a big deal then that the Dealer will have to resolve at their expense so a replacement 'Correct Vehicle', & New is the least to expect and

out of pocket expenses, and a gesture for the changing of the insurance policy as well.

Well guys thanks for your replies, visited the dealer today, they threw their hands up and admitted their 'mistake'. They have resolved the the matter to my daughters satisfaction. In the end she didn't want the hassle of waiting for a new car, she's expecting and due in June. They have agreed to refund the cost of the LED's and Cruise control and thrown in A couple of free services, a tank of fuel and cover any associated costs regarding insurance. Not the best of experiences but to be fair they were willing to try and put it right. Time to draw a line under it and move on. Cheers.

If you and your daughter are happy that's the main thing

I dare say the cruise and the DRL could be retrofitted but that's your call if you so wish at a later stage

Glad you got sorted and you can enjoy the car

Ages since I've seen a Polo Harlequin - must still be a few left on the road.
