312mm Brakes

Featured Replies

I'm trying to gather as much information as to suitability of the TT conversion of 312mm brakes.

I know that several people have bought these from me on here bought I don't know what they fitted them too!

If you could possibly post below with the make, model, year of your car it would be really helpful.

Also if anyone has got the part numbers for the hubs etc needed to fit these to some models it would be great too!

Thanks in anticipation!

To fit them to a Fabia/Ibiza that doesn't have the 288mm brakes as standard you need vRS hubs which are as below:

6Q0407255S £94.95

6Q0407256S £94.95

If you look in the Guides section, I'm sure Ross did a how too.

I think most people use the standard Fabia hoses, but others have used the TT ones that come with it. Both fit, albeit the std ones are a little tight.

I've done a few sets and found that it's better to use the slightly longer TT hoses if you can get them Steve.

They are keyed 90' out from the standard Fabia ones but if they are routed carefully this doesn't cause an issue.

Skoda Octavia part numbers for the bit's you sell are -

Left brake caliper housing 1U0 615 123

Can anyone supply my good quality pics of the zimmermann set up installed, both with wheel on and off?

Thanks for vRStu for some quality pics of his install of the OEm set up (he sent these some time ago)

March 04 Fabia VRS with standard 16" wheels. Fitted using the supplied TT hoses.

July 01 - Octavia L&K 1.8T - behind 18" alloys - i believe everything supplied was fitted (but i would have to ask JBS on that:O )

Brilliant conversion it is too

Thnaks for the feedback guys, looks like it's an easy fit for most of you! ;)

Not sure how it relates, but i'm running the 312mm conversion on a Passat 1.9TDI - very popular upgrade.

Requires the discs and caliper carriers (as the calipers on the vw are already the same). oh and aftermaket pads, as i didn't fancy hacking off wear indicators....

Excellent to hear! Where did you hear about the upgrade as I've not heard of many Passat owners doing this!

Thanks

Steve

they can be fitted to the 2.0 fabia as well, but you need bigger wheels becuase the 2.0 only has 15" wheels
