engine management/emissions light

Featured Replies

Hiya all, engine management light has come back on, went out when realised the tyres were wrong size,,went out for 2 wks now back on again, flashes then goes stationery,

Car working fine, just bit worried any ideas.

The tyres might have the TPMS (tyre pressure monitoring system) light come on.

(what is the story on the wrong size tyres?)

As to the 'Engine Management light', was this the Engine Shaped light?

?

What engine do you have, which fuel, how many miles covered?, just any clues about your car.

Yeah its the engine symbol, have a 1.4lt petrol i think thats what the insurance have it at, there is 135000 on the clock. Was running fine till this fecking light came on feel a bit vibrate on low gear.

So what basic and regular servicing has it had.

Anything in the way of Spark Plugs changed or even checked, ignition coils, fuel filter, air filter changed?

You need it scanned for any fault codes really.

Got it scanned for faults but it came up wit window fault and a possible sensor but changed tyres and light went out. Now back on again

The EML becomes stationery? A pack of paper? Envelopes? Staples? Ring binders? ;)

It doesn't come on without a fault, probably the "possible sensor", but they're only golden, not crystal, so without code and preferably narrative I can't comment further.
