Black & White skoda emblem

Featured Replies

Got a little carried away :-) But I think it looks good. Gonna give it a few weeks to see if I get tired of it.

Just modded my Monte Carlo black badge to this. Thank you for this inspiration. Looks so good with the black pack.

Now to do the rear one, and plastidip the letters, and do the chrome exhaust tips.

Just be careful to buy genuine VW badges. I brought them from ebay, and they were obviously knock offs. Looked good in the flesh, but didn't have the same clips as the genuine articles, and are a pain to pull apart, and don't go back together again well.

My colour coded knock offs look good until you get close. Am definitely ordering new genuine badges and doing them again.

Have to say I find the new non-coloured emblems really nice.

Superskoda have jumped on the bandwagon, but chrome on Corrida Red and Steel (Meteor) Grey only for now:

Not cheap though...

Urgh, this is going to end up like the horrendous coloured gel Ford badges.

Hmmm, not me, I got these instead

They'll be on a black vRS245 which I intend to de-badge, not sure if the front vRS badge will come & leave the grill unmarked.

Another pic

Yeah that helps a lot so, the front grill badge doesn't have any holes behind it then ?

Bonnet emblem has no holes behind, just a couple of dimples (bless :giggle:). These are used to locate the emblem correctly.

The grille badge is just plastic welded or bonded to the vertical slats. I pulled mine off very carefully and glued it back on, been fine.

Would it have looked ok without the badge or, do the dimples show enough to make it look cack?

It'd look cack. The badge sits in a circular recess. It may be possible to split the badge, remove the backing plate and stick the circle and winged thingy back on (either chrome or painted) but I'm not certain, due to the edge profile of the recess. The dimples would be covered though.

And now candy white / chrome

Its a shame they don't do the Candy white / black as I want all my chrome gone.

Nice..but €40 per badge is a bit steep...and I agree about the black...want to get rid of the chrome

I am still looking at the all black ones, but they are the same price. I might try to plastic dip my current ones again, I wasn't happy with the finish last time I tried.

Race blue and brilliant silver now added on the site.
