Disable reverse lights cold check

Featured Replies

I've got a nice pair of reversing LEDs in the combi. All good apart from they trip the blub warning. Worse in the cold weather!

Can I disable just the reversing bulb cold check?

Sure although I don't think VCDS can, you'll probably need either VCP or ODIS-e assuming it's the '62 plate in your signature.

Any ideas why it can't be done with VCDS Langer's?

There isn't a check box for it.

On cars with a PQ35 BCM the lighting configuration is controlled by a section of EEPROM that VCDS can't access. It ties in to the byte 18 issues people have when they change it from 00. Word of warning, if your byte 18 is 00 leave it alone...

Instead you need to directly alter the EEPROM to turn off the cold/hot checks as I have on my Octavia. This is something ross-tech and therefore VCDS won't support.

Thanks for the background. Always interesting to hear the reasons why. I'll make sure not to play!
