Hi all, I've been reading through various posts as a visitor over recent weeks in preparation for my new car. On November 5th I ordered a new superb estate 150ps DSG SE L in magnetic metallic brown with beige alcantara and a very long list of options. It's due to arrive at the dealer in the next few days (or so I've been informed). There's no rush really as I'd like it on a 17 plate. I've never had a new car before and am trying to contain my excitement! The communication from the dealer has not been the best, and I've had to chase them to get updates.  Does anyone know what port the car will arrive at and how long it's likely to take to get to the dealer in the North West? Some posts on the forum indicate that many new owners seem to know more about where their car is at any one time. Is there an order tracker or similar? Thanks in advance.

Can't help you with the questions,  but you have done well getting it pretty quickly. 

 

Mine was ordered same day as you   no sign of it yet :(

 

Get some pictures up when you finally get it.  Hope you enjoy it.

It will sail from Emden and either enter the UK via Newcastle (most likely) or Grimsby.  You can follow ship movements via www.marinetraffic.com, you dealer should be able to tell you when it sails and which ship it is on - mine did.

Thanks for the replies. That makes it a bit clearer. Will ring the dealer tomorrow and yes, will post some pictures on the big day! 

A fine choice sir, it's the same as mine with the exception of the colour and DSG. It'll be good seeing another one swishing around Chester and the surrounding area. Who's supplying it?

 

By a strange turn of fate I collected mine from the lease company in York, only to find it was actually supplied by Alex Lawrie in Liverpool. It's a long story as to why I went to York to collect it rather than just having it delivered to my house in Chester... 

 

Mine was available for me to collect 2 weeks after it arrived in an un-named UK port.

 

It's a lovely car - I'm sure you'll be really happy with it.

If you want updates, call Skoda directly (0333 003 7504) with your SLI number and they can give you an update over the phone.

My dealer contact after placing the order was non-existant.

 

 

Thanks will do. I've not even got an SLI number though. All I've got is a new car order form with no such numbers on. The dealer is being pretty hopeless

Oddly enough, the dealer is Alex Lawrie. I've just telephoned them and requested the SLI number via email and any other information they have. Fingers crossed I can get a bit more information.

This should be on your order form somewhere. If not, ask the dealer for it.

Thanks very much. I've got an SLI number now but it's probably no use as the car has been delivered to the dealer already! It arrived on Wednesday. The salesman had been away on the kodiaq launch and was just catching up, which is fair enough. He was very helpful on the phone and filled me in with all the details.  I'm off to see it tomorrow morning and will get some pictures. 

I went to see the new car today and I'm delighted. It's a real beauty, exactly to the specification I ordered although I forgot to check the net partition above the rear seat. It was a little  dirty which can be understood as it hasn't had any PDI things done yet. Anyway here's some pics.
