What year car did I buy?

Featured Replies

Surely a simple explanation, but my dealer has not got back to me: what year car am I driving? I have a 66 plate. The car was first registered on the road in October 2016, but this Vehicle Invoice is confusing:

Manufacturing year 2016 (MY16) as the Sportline wasn't available in 2015.

I would guess that 2015 is indicating a Superb 3 as they are 2015 onwards.

MY17 came out from week 22 2016, which is before the SportLine was available, so it has to be MY17, the 10 colour LED strips in the dash and frameless rear view mirror will also support this as they were both new additions on the MY17.

I would guestimate it would be one of the 1st SportLines built at the end of 2016.

Thanks both. I worried about what parts I should be looking for, and the fact that some of the online parts sale sites can not find my registration. I just got my V5C in the post this am, and am reassured that it was built in 2016.

Yes. The sales manager drove it. He put 1,700 miles on it in four months. And the younger sales guys drove the Canton system - they like a lot of bass judging by the settings! I got about £9K off the list price, so I'm happy to have a second-hand car. It is, as they say, like new.

Myskoda phone app shows the production date when you register your car.

that could clarify things for you :)
