Gaffa tape :)

For holding your bumper on after touch parking sensors feedback to your brain you've nudged the car behind :D

Can't find it either, but I do recall such a device / discussion.

Cheers Colin

That makes me feel better ...at least it's not just me that can't find it :D .........it's just that as the bumper has to come off to fit a tow bar I thought I may as well do that as well.

Has any one fitted one ...does it work OK

I've got a Taurus electromagnetic sensor on my Fabia vRS. It's not very successful.

Firstly, it isn't very sensitive unless the tailgate is open (in which case you don't need it anyway). It may be that on a different model car, with a different installation you would be able to detect objects at the claimed ranges. But mine won't.

Secondly, the car has to be moving for the sensor to work. This, coupled with the short range on mine means that it is very good at telling you that you have just hit something. Not what is wanted.

Lastly, it reacts to anything metal in the vicinity, even buried mains cables and manhole covers. I now know the location of every power, phone and broadband cable outside my house, even though it won't detect the neighbour's car.

So it wasn't one of my better mods.

It's only the black strip round the bumper that you have to drill, the holes are already in the actual bumper itself behind the black strip, they are very easy to fit, and come with the rubber grommet and plug in harness and everything ready to go, the kit comes with everything you need to install them except the tools to remove the bumper and drill the hole.

I have a spare genuine Skoda set of parking sensors for a Superb, boxed as new if anyones interested in buying them?

Rob, I'm guessing the fitting will be the same as a Fabia's for the genuine fitting set. If you want to know how un-scary it is, I can send you some of my pictures I took while doing it.
