Curses - where's my car then Mr Salesman?

Featured Replies

Poo!,

Was all ready yesterday to pic up my nice brand spankin' new Fabia Vrs (in black) and the salesman rang and said that the car transporter had got stuck under a low bridge, and can't have the car 'till Friday!

I soddin' well hope that the Fabia wasn't on the top deck!

Sounds like a lame excuse to me. I dont see why people bother making up stories like that.

If it had got stuck under a bridge he would have known days ago as they drop them off at the dealers for PDI's a good 2-3 days in advance of customer collection.

You might be getting a free sunroof:D

Sounds like a poor excuse to me too. Sorry to point this out but the delay could be to repair some minor damage that happened during transit or similar. Just check the car over very carefully when you collect it.

It could indeed, they tried this on my first vRS that I ordered (but didn't except)

I must say that this sounds like a complete load of BS -- as has been said, delivery to the dealership would be at least 2-3 days prior and quite often more.

The chances of one of these delivery drivers choosing a route that would run the risk of this sort of thing is minimal.they have a very strick threee strikes and your out system - wether there is damage to the vehciles being transported or not.

My advice would be to get down there pronto and have a loook round, make sure the car isnt there, either being repaired or waiting for some part to be fitted thats been found during PDi - which are the two most likely outcomes.

If there was a genuine delay they should have informed you before the actual delivery day -- not to do so is unforgivable in my book and quite frankly stinks

Good idea, get down to the dealer and have a good look around before you go and say hello to the salesman.
