Hi all

I've posted on here as I'm after some advice about a failing DSG box on my 2005 Octavia diesel. Sadly I've been to a dealer and they've diagnosed a ~£500 part (S1K2713041A,  a gear selector mechanism if you just can't wait for the details) and I think it may be curtains for the car (car is only worth £1300 max), unless you folks can have a look at VAGCOM logs blah blah and work some magic, as there's no real guarantee they're right about the selector.

Hopefully this little intro is enough to get me posting in the technical areas
