Moisture in fog light - is this acceptable?

Featured Replies

I know that the headlights / fog lights on the O3 do occasionally have mist in them and it is is 'normal'.  However the drivers side front fog light on my 4 month old VRS seems to mist up excessively compared to the passenger side which is absent of any mist.

I have driven with the fogs on to try and clear it but the mist comes back and covers the lens completely.

The two pictures below were taken 1) after running the fogs for a hour, 2) after the car has been standing during the day (dry day no rain)

What's your view....exessive moisture or hold out till the weather warms up and see if that clears it.

Well I can honestly say I've not noticed anything like that in either of mine, so I'd definitely consider querying it with your garage.  I'm sure they may well try and fob you off, but that second pic suggests the moisture would almost certainly impede the performance of the light, which can't be right.

I going to nip in to the dealers at the weekend.  Over the week I have seen a fair few Octavia's and Superb's of which none have this level of moisture in the fog light.  Like I said the other fog lights is crystal clear!!!

Don't get this on mine. Looks a tad excessive to me.

Something not right for sure.

If visible water droplets are present then your dealer should have no issue replacing them under warranty.

Quick update.  Sent the pictures of the fog light to the dealers and the part is on order and will be fitted early next week.  Can't ask fairer than that .

We had our Drivers side fog light replaced this week under warranty due to the same fault
