Another Octavia 2 comes in

Featured Replies

Looks good in Blue & BM - not seen other colours 'on the road' yet where I live so far :)

I had a dodge into Benfield Newcastle to eye up their black vRS and have pretty much decided thats going to be the replacement for my current vRS...just need to keep my current 52 plate for 8-10 months then I can get the replacement

the car looks so much better in the flesh so to speak than in photos, and the interior is streets ahead of the current model...the wife loved it as well, which is always a bonus as it means no argueing when it comes to get a new car

@FTM - if SWMBO doesn't like it it tends to mean it's not even worth bothering to try (unless you're willing to put up with the constant moaning + never being able to mention any niggles with the car you end up with (as that would trigger the whole thing again LOL).

This is one of the reasons the Furby vRS was so good, plenty of modding potential but all pretty subtle stuff that she won't notice that much = no grief

Was reading in some Car rag that vRS Oct II TDi was due out sometime after September, which would be ideal for me.

Howvere, on the point on the 170ps TDi, its also going in the Passat and as we know the MKV Golf, but there will be a 4MO version of the MKV with 170ps, which would also be a serious consideration.

the 170 PD is also in the Altea FR

I was looking at a 2.0 TDi, as I currently own a 110 TDi, but after having a look at a 170 review, I will be waiting. I'm currently trying to get a drive in a 170Bhp TDI altea.

I would love a 170TDi VRs but if that doesn't happen it will probably be a leon FR or somthing similar.

One thing i would like is quattro or equivalent, as i think thats a lot of torque through 2 wheels and a lot of torque steer.

I don't think my dealer has ever had a single item of Skoda merchandise on show in their showroom - how short-sighted is that!

I wasn't even aware there were things like watches (and I love watches mmmm) :)

Is there a catalogue?

As the Octy, as per Passat now, is based on the MKV platform it would be the 4MO type set-up, ie Haldex. I'd definitely like a 4WD high power diesel as well.

Its not like Skoda don't already have 4WD drive Octys, they do, its just getting them to make a sporty one.

Trust me, 4MO is great when power kicks in at the rear - especially with an upgraded Haldex controller which make the power delivery to the rear more aggressive as haldex is a torque based system.

Haldex 2 as fitted to the Octy2 is a big step over Haldex 1 aswell.
