Superb estate boot floor

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

I am picking up my new Superb Estate SEL 1.4 TSI this week, really looking forward to it.

Only thing is, I didn't choose variable boot floor and kind of wished I did now. Is it possible to have this fitted by the dealers? Also am I missing out on much not having it? (boot mainly used for baby pram and stuff)

Also thanks to everyone on the forum in helping me choose my first Skoda

Your not missing out on it in my opinion... i dont have it...

Unless you are carrying flat loads, i dont really see a need for it.

Agree with ricktt baby pram and things are big items your better off with full boot .......I don't have it either

Have it, love it. Normally have it raised which gives me an extra compartment for two rope, blanket, jump leads and so in. But it's a doddle if empty to raise and lower once you have the knack. Has a sort of circular motion based on a rear bearing. Can't see any reason why it's not retrofit...and as its offered  by some aftermarket supplies, suspect even diy.

Likewise, I have it and use it to put smaller items underneath, or laptops etc when travelling.  Should be available as a retrofit I would have thought.

Thanks for all your input... Much appreciated.

Picking the car up this week... looking forward to it

Cheers

if you have not opted for the spare wheel, there's plenty of space below the standard floor for storage

The advantage with the variable floor is that you have exact spots to deposit the boot cover, the coat shelf and boot divider. You would frequently take those off if you transport long items like a carpet or ikea furniture.

I would get it if possible (I don't have it now, didn't realize it's an option until delivery - freaking dealers don't tell you all the options!)

About the extra vertical space without it - let me tell you one thing: I have never actually filled up the boot to the ceiling. Probably you won't need to either.

I  just could not feel easy  driving a car without a spare wheel, an absolute  necessity as far as I am concerned, so a dual level boot floor is very useful. Above the lower spare wheel level is another level in which  one can house all sorts of items which are out of sight, access to which is  very easy  unless there are large items stored in the main level. When I change my  estate I will go for the split level boot area again, I have found it most useful. And despite the arrival of the Kodiaq I think I will stay with the Estate because from what I can make out in the UK,  a panoramic roof is not available, nor ivory leather seats?. plus I think the appearance of the estate ( and saloon ) is nicer than the Kodiaq.

Ivory leather and the panoramic sunroof are both available options on the Kodiaq as is the VBF
