Amundsen SD slots

Featured Replies

Hi guys

I've had a search around on the site but can't find an answer the my question: can you add music to the Skoda SD card that has all the nav data on it or do I need to buy a separate one?

Also, I've being trying to add DAB logos as suggested on here. I've downloaded the zip files from the VW website and copied the individual files I want to the Skoda SD card but when I plug it back into the SD slot it doesn't seem to recognise any of them when I try and assigned them.

Any help much appreciated!

2nd SD card for music I'm afraid but, they aren't that expensive

@Satuok - Yes, you will need to buy a separate one but like @themanwithnoaim says, they're pretty cheap.

Where you might run into problems is the format used on the SD cards. There is a thread somewhere on Brisky which lists the valid formats for SD cards, including media files for music / images (i.e. DAB radio logos), but unfortunately I couldn't find it for you (in the very limited time I spent searching). I can have a look later today and add it to this thread; but I'm sure you may find it before me.

I'm looking into getting a 64GB SD card soon for uploading music and images, so - if you don't find an answer on here - I'll update with my experiences, if that helps.

Just ordered one of these based on someone's advice on another thread:

Seem cheap and have good reviews.

So you can't use the Skoda Nav SD card for DAB logos either? That'll be why it's not working!

Or just copy the radio logo files onto a USB stick, pop it in the USB socket and then upload them that way. You have to go into the radio settings and logos and upload them one by one.

I wouldnt mess about with the Skoda NAV Sd card, you might end up deleting your map data.

I agree with the members who say don't use the Nav card (or slot) for anything other than navigational information.

I haven't got a USB socket, I've got the MDI port. Which leads me to another question: do I need the MDI to Apple lightning cable with the dark green rubber to charge and play music from my iPhone 6S?

I updated the map data last night following the instructions on the Skoda website, which involved formatting the SD card and unzipping the latest map data onto it; seemed to work okay, although I'm still pretty underwhelmed with the navigation.

Because I'm too impatient to wait for my new SD card I've copied the DAB radio image files to CD, so I'll give that a go. It's one of the options when I try to set the image for the presets so hopefully that'll work.

I have to agree with your opinion of the Nav system - certainly nowhere as intuitive as my standalone Garmin - and the postcode entry setup is just plain stupid.
