Slight Problemo,

 

Noticed this on Dash driving home as soon as ignition started, error wont disappear by itself after 3 re-starts, the ODB2 Fault scan is below, is this a sensor issue? Car was OK to drive though I didn't go above 2.5K revs all way home just in case, thinking of clearing the fault using Torque Pro but would like to know more first.

Maybe the time the Water Pump / Supercharger Magnetic clutch is going to need changing.

That sounds expensive...... What would that cost????

 

Just found this from link below, hopefully could be electrical issue??, anyone else had the same fault though and easily solved?

 

I guess I need to get the sensor checked out first.....

First step is to measure the sensor and check the wiring.

High input is normally indicative of a resistive fault, be it internally within the sensor or the wiring to it.

Garage confirmed this morning fault coolant sensor problem as I showed him live data it was 78C idle, but as soon as you move it was intermittently reading -40 then shooting back up to 78C.

Garage said it plays havoc with the fuel injection timing and runs lean...

 

Apparently a common fault to VW. Booked in next Friday for the sensor.

Nice cheap fix.

sensor replaced and wiring was faulty when new one was in, told them to leave new sensor in so it was £75, no warning lights now so good,
