Bye Bye Corrado Red

Featured Replies

Came across some information in the Kodiaq forum: the demise of Corrado Red. I checked the UK Superb configurator and it has indeed been removed without being replaced by an alternative.

It would appear people who pre-ordered the Kodiaq in Corrado Red have been contacted to choose an alternative colour.

It might affect those still waiting for their red Superbs to be built.

I'd heard rumours that Petrol/Lava Blue might be on the way out soon, but the only available red going sooner surprised me.

  • Just leave mine here ..... ;-)

  • From the UK configurator for Superb, what a complete barrel of blandness:

  • There's nothing wrong with silver as a standalone colour. There's a wide range of silvers and some are quite beautiful. But these days, how do you find yours in a car park?

Having just looked at the UK configurator,... it would seem the only colour options are dull, dull or dull....  (bad as BMW)  leaving the dragon for the sportline..

My guess is there will be some more colours coming soon and they have removed to prevent people ordering a discontinued colour..

The last time I remember a colour disappearing overnight without prior warning was Rosso Brunello when the Japanese factory producing the required pigment was destroyed (by the 2011 Fukushima earthquake/tsunami if I recall).

It became available again a few months later.

Some dealers have been advising Kodiaq customers to "wait a while" if they really want red, so I'm wondering if this too is merely a supply problem?

I think its more likely the car leasing companies that don't want people ordering interesting colours, once more the private buyer gets shafted! The colour choice for the UK must be getting really bland now unless you like 50 shades of grey D)

Wonder what 5-10 year old former Audi colour they'll be bringing back.

Missuno Red like on my Audi would be a good choice.

I think its an example of where the Superb has a been a victim of its own success.  It is such a popular choice, in fact one of the very top choices, for fleet buyers across most countries that there will probably be an even greater emphasis in the future on streamlining other aspects of the range.  Such a shame though that they are likely to drop many colours, especially if they drop lava blue

I have also confirmed that djungel green will be discontinuied.. why are they taken colours away?? When i orderd my first octavia in 2013 i chosed the lava blue..at the same day i was at the dealer to order the car it was taken away for new orders..

Does that mean that my car will increase in value now because of scarcity? Or was red that unpopular in the first place? I suddenly feel very insecure...

I must admit, people standing at bus stops in London keep trying to flag me down...

in Sweden, there are four solid colors incl. red and 9 metallic colors

Corrida red will be back...with 175f price tag.

New Octavia on configurator has numerous colours,Denim Blue, Race Blue and Rio Red:

Skoda New Octavia Colours

Just like the weather, dull and dreary. I think some of the colours do look good on the cars in real life but it would be really good to see some brighter choices. (says he with a Rosso Brunello S3!!!!!)

Rosso Brunello would be nice......

Perhaps they realised that the Superb looks so amazing in red they felt bad for all the other car owners and removed the option...:D

Hoping this is rectified in 2 years time when mine is up for renewal...or that yellow becomes available

Yellow is available, but for some reason they call it Dragon green?

Just tried to move from Rosso Brunello on the present barge to REAL red on the new one...............STUFFED !

Gone for petrol blue...........boring but at least like the rosso it's nice when it's clean and the sun's shining!

I wouldn't say petrol blue is boring, its certainly an interesting colour that will provide different shades depending on the amount of natural light.  I do still miss my lovely Rosso Superb from a few years ago!  It was certainly the classiest colour Skoda had IMO.

I think that the Trade Description people should be looking into the fact that they call them 'colours'

If this is all that will be available when I renew my car in a couple of years I will be very dissapointed.

Glad we managed to get a Corrida Red Sportline.

Missus wouldn't have bothered getting one in any of the shades of bland on offer.
