Audio suddenly failed

Featured Replies

The audio on my 2011 Superb Elegance estate has suddenly failed. The radio will select all the tuned stations but there is no output. The same applies to the media player and CD player. My telephone also has no audio but seems to operate, only silently. The volume banner on the head unit shows Voice and does not alter when using the thumb wheel on the steering wheel or the volume control on the head unit. The voice option seems to operate when pressing the thumbwheel but again no audio. The radio was working but failed just when I was reversing. I recently had to change my bluetooth module with one that I bought from a breakers when mine packed in but I have disconnected this and this made no difference to this problem. It seems that the whole system has muted but no indications of this anywhere. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

At a guess, your Elegance has the digital amplifier under the passenger seat.  Check the plugs/looms in this unit and sniff it to see if the magic smoke as escaped.
