Phone connection to car/infotainment system

Featured Replies

I'm finding it difficult to understand why my mobile phone is loosing connection with my car. I have, or I seem to think I have followed the instructions and for the most part it connects with out issue.

That said, at least once a week or more, the car and the phone fail to connect, so I have to find phone and go through it all again.

I remember the dealer doing a software update back at the end of Dec last year, as I was experiencing signal drop off on the dab and FM radio. My phone is a good few years old, it's the Google Nexus 5 and it's always running the latest software. It's so frustrating as it always happens when you least have time to deal with it.

My work phone, a blackberry z3 connects fine all the time and quite often before my Nexus does.

I stream music from my phone via Spotify when the radio is poor or boring me.

Any suggestions please, as I'm currently going through the infotainment instructions again trying to resolve this.

You've answered the question, if the BlackBerry works all the time it must be your phone.

I think you are right, just as a test i have disconnected the BlackBerry for a week and my phone still, either does or doesn't connect. It's driving me nuts.

I can't afford to upgrade to the pixel yet so i guess I'll just have to live with it. I have had to pair it twice today already, so I have resorted to leave my blue tooth on as I've been here there and everywhere today.

Have you tried the usual stuff, like delete the connection from both device and reconnect again? Or change the cable?

Yup, I've deleted them from the list, then found and paired them again.

I don't get what you mean by, change the cable? The issue is the Bluetooth connection, unless I'm missing something?

Sorry I was a bit excited to help :D

I`m not sure that you have the Smartlink activated but if so you can enjoy streaming music via USB cable. This would be your other option, but you will lose the Bluetooth connection

Thanks for your reply

I'm not sure if I have the smartlink set up, I'll have to check, I've had a quick look in the Amundsen manual and can't see it? I'll have to do some research.
