Paint touch up pen

Featured Replies

I am looking for paint touch up pen for my Octavia (Beige Gray) to cover small scratches or nicks. Do they work? Where can I get them?

Get them from your local Skoda dealer or over the net.  They work fine.

I did bit a touch up on my Octavia bonnet :)

What do they cost from Skoda?  I need 9156 Brilliant Silver and SuperSkoda doesn't stock it.  Found one on eBay but it's £15 and it the expiry was 2015. Not sure how useful the shelf life is mind.

I tried Halfords for some touch up paint and was disappointed with the match. They mixed it up in front of me, but I ended up throwing it away.  Bought a genuine Skoda touch up, good match. Have heard the same story from other members as well when they bought Halfords mixed colours.

Yeah I won't ever trust Halfords to mix paint.  I'd be surprised it even back as silver. Thanks though.

Just purchased black magic one from local dealer and is about £13.

I'm interested in a touch up pen or similar for my race blue Octavia. Think the paint code is in my main book along with engine code.

Theres a nasty and I mean nasty chip on the RHS above the front light cluster. Been told time and again by specialists ect it'd be pointless charging me to do it but always been aprehensive in case I buggered it up.

I don't think it's too hard; I think it's mainly the fear of taking sand paper to the paintwork!  I'm going to be tackling mine soon I think, so I'll let you know how I get on.  The only thing I'm undecided on is which method to use to attack the chips that have rust in the middle. I wondering if wet and dry will suffice (they're only ~1-2mm across) or if I need something like Kurust to convert the rust entirely. Might try a fiberglass pen...

Also I don't know what primer to use on the same chips where there is no paint left at all.

Can't complain with paints4u. Ordered on Tuesday, arrived today :)  <£19 inc postage for their master kit and primer.  Just waiting on the rest of the sandpaper and rust removal tools from ebay and I'll hopfully have a crack at them soon :)  I might actually my DA to use; the one I bought 12 months ago and have used once!
