Rubber Mats

Featured Replies

All,

Should be picking my MK3 Octy hatch up end of the month and wanted to purchase some rubber mats like i do with every car i buy.

Obviously i could go an get the full set from a main agent and pay a little more but wondered if there were any cheaper ones about that will do the job? Ideally want the boot mat as well.

I've seen plenty online of course but a lot of people say the smell can be horrendous!

Anyone bought some online recently that are just fine?

Cheers

I'd buy mats from the manufacturer.  A boot mat from a third party is fine but I'd not risk a driver's floor mat where there is a chance of the mat catching on a pedal.

I think you'll be surprised just how cheap the genuine mats can be if you haggle! Our full rubber mats for the Yeti and carpet ones for the Superb are great quality and were inexpensive.

The genuine carpets are about £25, but the rubbers about £45, so quite a bit more.

A lot of people on here use Superskoda, but they are not always cheaper:

Most dealers will do 10% discount if you say youve seen them cheaper elsewhere, ebay etc.

Also see the Briskoda parts discount scheme:

Skoda's own bought for my Scout ... excellent quality, fit & price imo.

Typo

I have OEM ones, think I got them from Superskoda for about £45. Also got one that goes over the transmission tunnel in the back, was about an extra £8/9 I think.

Worth their weight in gold with two kids under 4...just take them out and hose them off. (The mats I mean!)

Have just ordered the rubber ones from super skoda and rear tunnel rubber mat, £53.45 delivered

By the way, even the OEM ones smell a bit when new, it fades after a few weeks though.

And it's better than the potential smell of spilt milk in the carpet. :)

The OEM rubber mats are excellent quality, I like the raised up lip all the way round.

I have them in my Vrs, Mrs G has them in her Fabia 3, nicely priced as well

Skoda do a protection pack. Got a full set of carpet mats, boot liner and mud flaps for £145.

The OEM felt carpets stated to wear through after 12 months, I replaced them with an OEM rubber set, much more durable.

Whilst cheaper, from the pics they don't look that great a fit. The official Škoda ones are snug, no gaps around the mat at all. Those look like they have quite a gap around the edge. And picture 3 looks like it doesn't follow the floor contours at all.

I guess your opinion from "pictures" is better than mine in reality!

The skoda rubbers are great. Haggle and/or try more than one dealer? On my last 4 cars, once I had negotiated the price and spent an hour on the paperwork, I suddenly remember the rubbers. Instead of redoing the paperwork they were just delivered with the car  :-)

Suddenly!......

;-) Got it! Nice work.

My Wife dropped a chocolate creme cake in the boot this weekend, good job I had my rubber mat fitted!
