I have test driven a 2014 L&K Superb. It has an uprated sound system. I noticed a sound coming from the passenger side. I first thought it was a static sound coming from the passenger door speaker but upon investigation found that the sound was coming from under the seat. There is a unit under there and I presume that this unit is the amp for the sound system. It doesn't seem to switch off. Is this normal?

The amp is silent, you are hearing the air cooled seat fan that has been turned on as the passenger climbed in.

As above. We do this occasionally in our L&K then wonder why the stereo is making static-like noises before we realise it's the seat. Look for a three-way button on the front corner of the seat (door-side). This controls the fan for the ventilated seats.

Oh...I have done that a few times... get in car and think "what the hell is that noise!!!" Ah... Mother has knocked the switch again Lol 

Thank you guys. I didn't realise this feature was on the car. I have done a deal and am picking it up next week. I must check out the ventilated seat feature.

 

On the MK2 the switch is on the seat base, next to the door which you can catch with you foot when getting out of the car, especially like me when you elderly Mother gets in and out... I spent ages trying to find that damn noise... Lol ...
