Karcher K2 -> hozelock outlet conversion

Featured Replies

HI all,

My Mrs kindly purchased a snowfoam lance/bottle combination for me but it's one that connects to a garden hose (via Hozelock). However I want to connect it to my Karcher K2 so that I can get more pressure and hopefully better foam.

Has anyone converted the outlet on a karcher so it connects to a regular hozelock connection and if so.. how??

Post a photo of the lance you have... I have a Karcher snow foam lance fitting that I no longer use.

Ah thats a different type to what I have:

Ah not to worry chap. that's why i'm looking for a way of connecting the snowfoam lance to the karcher.

What makes you think a snow foam lance designed for pressures lower than 4-5 Bar isn't going to blow to bits when you should 150 Bar up its bum?

Actually I am  just looking for options. the current lance simply doesn't seem to produce any kind of decent foam so I'm looking at other options that don't involve binning it and getting another one.

If snow foam lances worked well on a hose pipe there would be no market for the pressure washer type. It would be a lot easier snow foaming my car without the hassle of getting the pressure washer out.

Bin that sucker and get the real deal :)

Where did 150 Bar come from?

My K2 integrated "soap" dispenser was absolutely useless so I added a pukka brass bodied foam gun similar to the one pictured above (but all black).

It works great and I'm very, very sure it ain't seeing 150 Bar.  Expensive detergent (foam) really does work better than cheap stuff.

A snow foam lance for use with a pressure washer has been designed with the potential for high pressure in mind so the flow through them has been calculated accordingly, most pressure washer are capable of 150 Bar plus, granted with the higher flow rate of a snow foam lance its not going to see that but the potential is there.

fitting a snow foam lance that is designed for a garden hose to a pressure washer isn't going to work. For starters you won't find a pressure washer connection that will adapt to hozelok.

The snow foam lance pictured above is what is required, not one like this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/like/131919835947?lpid=122&chn=ps&adgroupid=41285909471&rlsatarget=pla-470338973512&adtype=pla&poi=&googleloc=1006496&device=c&campaignid=738225731&crdt=0
