Unable to diagnose suspension noise, brand new A7

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

I bought a brand new A7 on march '16 and from that day I'm hearing troubling suspension noise. Initially i didnt bother much since i knew that suspension was on the hard side, but after I drove a few other cars I started to fear.

Symptoms

When I go over a hump I hear a 'tak tak' noise from the front left side only.

This noise does not occur every time.

If I go over a hump while turning then the noise is more pronounced.

Sometimes it's so loud that It feels like a hammer strike to the centre bottom chassis.

Analysis so far,

In 1 year I've visited the service centre 4 times and though they all are able to hear it no one is able to root cause it.

Work done so far,

Link rod had been swapped between the right and left, yet the noise is coming from the left only.

Strut was also swapped but no use.

I would request you all to help me in understanding what more can be done.

The service guys have called for  technical team visit from the manufacturing plant but I need to wait.

Any help is really appreciated.

Sounds like you need to do that ^^ (wait)

New car shouldn't need to be trying to find answers on a forum and you shouldn't touch the car in the meanwhile, unless their final response leaves you blank.

I am also facing the same issue. During last service, they checked it and confirm the noise. However they could not find the exact cause of the noise. Strangely they checked their Test Drive Vehicle and found that that vehicle was also producing same noise!

Have you found any solution?
