Panoramic roof?

Featured Replies

Do you have a panoramic roof fitted to your Fabia?.

If so what do you like or dislike about it ?.

Just wondered as I'm thinking ahead to my next car.

Personally, I love it, the car feels roomier and brighter inside. Especially cool if you ride in the rear seat.

And it looks a lot better from the outside too.

Nothing negative to say about it so far.

I like the sunroof - similar reasons to Rebel55 above.

However there is one negative (could be more) but you lose the drop down glasses case from the roof!

I agree that it is great from the back seat but you don't get the wow factor when driving.

I imagine it must make the car hotter in the summer as well.

had one in my roomster the fabia was already built and couldn't add it

No doesn't seem hotter in summer

The mrs has one in her monte carlo. It makes the car nice and airy, doesnt feel any colder in winter. We havent had a summer in it yet but there are sun blinds if it gets too hot.

Hers did crack after a few weeks but it was replaced under warranty thankfully. Bit of a pain but very rare from what Ive gathered.

Didn't realise Roomster's could have them

Yes it was optional but we bought one of the run out se models

Made the roomster feel massive inside (which they were anyway) with it open

Winter was pretty cool with the blind open you could see the frost skidding of the glass when driving

Next car will have one for sure

Does it feel colder on a freezing winter day?

Nope :)

Had pano roofs in both my Roomsters.  Love 'em!

In the absence of a Roomster II, my next car may well be a Fabia Combi.

Pano roof will be number one on my options list.

All sounds positive up to now.

One reason (with which I largely disagree) to avoid either a fixed or opening glass roof...

and five reasons (with which I largely agree) to avoid an *opening* glass roof.

Fabia has a fixed glass roof.

So it's all still sounding positive ;)

I love mine so much that the blinds are never closed - whatever the weather.

I think I should test drive a Fabia with one in.

And that sounds even more positive

You'll love it!

I'm really loving my Fabia all round.

I think I was 'guided' a little too much by the salesman at the dealers when I ordered mine, possibly to get a quicker sale.

Next time I'll take more time to consider extras like the pano roof and other bits and bobs.

I have the longer glass pano on my Fabia Estate Monte Carlo.

Pro's: I Love the extra light when I remember to open the blinds. The black roof and roof bars against the red paint looks the business! Bird poo just blasts off with the jet wash.  I can put Rainex on it.

Cons: None so far.

I also read that 6 reasons to avoid article, I don't rate the article TBH, None of the points rae real reasons to avoid the glass roof.

Have one on my SE L, wouldn't be without it. Close the blinds on hot days and solar gain is no more of a problem than with a steel roof. Makes interior so much lighter. Rear seat passengers get greatest benefit. As for the link...don't agree with the 1st point and the others don't relate.

Would i specify for another car? Most certainly.

I tend not to bother reading these guides as like most things on the old interwebs people only write about negative things  or complaints

6 Reason for owning a pano roof

1) it makes the car feel roomy inside and bright inside

2 ) on spring days you can actually feel heat on your head even though ambient temperature is low

3) it looks cool when frosty

4) it looks even cooler when aforementioned frost or snow starts to blow off when traveling

5)my 2 year thought it was hilarious when it had rained heavily in the night and water was had beaded on the roof and slowly rolls together when pulling and then skidding off the roof when cornering

6) it's glass

Does it look quite shaded or mottled when cloud watching? (parked up obviously!)

I had a Sierra once where it was like this.

I've decided I'm going to seek one out for a look at the end of the month when the wife's Citigo is in for a service at the dealer's.
