Hello,

coming back home with another car I noticed the antenna on my MY2016 Fabia was missing.

After some search on Etka, I found two codes for the antenna:

- 6C0035849H - 'AM/FM' M5;

- 6C0035849J - 'AM/FM/DAB/, GSM' M6;

 

The car, with the bolero infotainment, doesn't have DAB so, is it safe to purhase the former?

Indeed  6C0035849H is the right one

My Fabia has the panoramic roof, so no external antenna. Aren't external antennas a bit old hat now, anyway. Maybe the "Sharks Fin" ones for satnav reception, (?), are valid but I'm sure there are smarter ways of achieving that too.

My 2016 has DAB so maybe a later model?

Seems like Italy is the place to go if you want to lose your aerial mast!

 

I was warned about that when I picked up the hire car at Pisa airport years ago, though on that occasion, while driving down to Assisi, a noise started up, a TAP TAP TAP'ng, I could not stop because of heavy traffic, but as we came off the motorway at the town below Assisi, I was aware that something dropped down past the passenger's side window, when I stopped at the side of the road - aerial had gone! Got onto hire company ASAP and told them that I was not paying for a replacement, and sure enough, they did not charge me for that loss, obviously it had not been fixed on correctly prior to me picking that car up! I seem to remember removing the car aerial and storing it in the glovebox the previous time I hired a car in Italy!

I was wondering: to avoid future thefts and have a better look, is it possible to find a real (not dummy) AM/FM only shark fin antenna, maybe VAG?

 

And in case there's only the AM/FM/DAB/GSM one, will it  be compatible if my car only has AM and FM?
