vRS arriving next week!

Featured Replies

Hi all,

This is my first post on here. Been browsing around the forums etc for a few weeks while trying to make up my mind about the fabia.

Needless to say my mind is now made up and the car has been ordered. Turns up next week.

At the moment i have a Clio 172 so this is certainly going to be a fair change for me. I am liking the fact my insurance has just halved though! I am getting slightly upset about the 30mpg that the clio gives me considering it doesn't even take a beating. After looking around the vrs made more sense than anything else.

I hope i have made the right decision but going by the reviews on here and everywhere else for that matter i think its a safe bet.

Can anyone tell me if i could fit a standard size frame mountain bike ( with seat post and front wheel taken off) in the boot of the fabia with the back seats down. That would be great as the seats in the clio are useless when it comes to folding them down.

Thanks

Stu

Good choice mate.

A bike will fit in the car with the seats folded down no problems at all, the seat squabs fold back to allow the seat back to fold completely flat, and there's even specific holes to put your head rests into when folded. ;)

I used to fit a full-sus jobbie in the back of a KA, so you'll have no probs. Just don't mark the seats!

You'd be miles better having a specific roof kit from the likes of Thule as they're very safe & stable. Costs though but a rip in your upholstery with the Chainrings .....   It's happened to me.....

Hello and welcome, nevere tried to get a bike into the back of my Furby, but it does swallow disco speakers!

Thanks all,

i am glad to know that the bike will fit in the boot. Due to the extremely poor design of the clios rear seats it has previously been a no go. The seat beat clips don't lay flat so when you try and fold the backs of the rear seats flat they dig into the leather.

I was a bit upset about this after i managed to fit the bike easily in the back of a pug 205 that i was using as a second car. The clio looked much bigger. I folded the seats down in the fabia while i was in the showroom but i just couldn't tell if it would be big enough.

I would buy a thule rack as mentioned above but i would be scared of dropping the bike on the roof and scratching it or something equally as silly.

Thanks again
