Hi All,

I have a 2007 Octavia Auto 2.0 diesel estate, I'm sorry to say!!!!

The latest electronic fault to my list is what I class as being bloody dangerous, and wonder if Skoda should sort out f.o.c. ( some hopes)

When in c/control and I apply the brake, the revs fly up and the cruise does not disingage!!!!!!!

I can assure made me change the colour of my trousers when it happened.

I would appreciate any advice, PLEASE.

May be the brake pedal switch playing up Models with cruise have 2 switches fitted to the brake pedal, one to disingage the cruise control and for brake brake lights), this may sound strange but does the cruise control disengage when you press the clutch  (if vehicle is Manual as there is switch fitted to the clutch pedal as well) if it does then change the brake switch and see if it cure's the problem

I doubt Skoda will be interested as the vehicle is 10 years old.

How many times has it happened?

Without taking the ****, are you certain you didn't kick down the accelerator on the auto rather than the brake?

Also with a brake pedal switch problem the cruise will not work at all................I believe.

So what happens????..........Does the car stop / slow down or speed up / lurch forward???

If 'speed up / lurch forward' is your answer, then as above, you hit the accelerator instead.

You won't get any free joy from Skoda at that age. If it's happened just once, I'm with Phil in maybe saying it was kickdown - pressing the accelerator does not disengage cruise.

@Julian  - the OP says in his post his car is an auto, so defo not a problem with a clutch switch

In the meantime, don't use cruise control until the car is scanned and any fault codes read and dealt with.

Must of miss read, a beer or two had been drunk by then.

Hi all,

This has happened quite a few times, and the car lurches as i'm braking and the revs are flying up.

Not meaning to be funny, I know the difference between the accelerator & the brake :blush

A Skoda chap has mentioned in the past about the brake pedal switch, think I'll be going down that road, ( whilst in reverse with the hand brake on) :wondering:

Funny tho that when its been into Skoda with all the electronic faults i've had, no faults appear!

So much for technology eh.

Thanks to all for your replys.
