How are Mercedes & NISSAN's with Renault engines doing under tests by Independent Facilities or by Investigators?

Pressure off VW.

They plead guilty to Conspiracy to Defraud in the USA, they admitted to 11 Million Devices installed World Wide and are being Investigated for much more, Offices and Facilities Raided, Employees in Jail or awaiting Sentencing where they plead guilt to offences, 

Billions of other peoples money lost in fines and the markets, 

& still the EU and other Government have to take action.

 

Others that might be at it hardly takes pressure off of the VW Group.

Pressure needs to be on EU Governments, Politicians & Authorities, Germany, France, Italy and Britain's for starters.

Who knew what and why was it all allowed to go on so long, no proper regulations or testing or audits on grants given for 

'Green Technology R&D then vehicles manufactured'.

Roughly from the Times:

 

Which? tested a load (278) of vehicles from 2012 and 2016 for compliance to the Euro 5 and Euro 6 Nox limits.  Renault were 4x 2012 over Euro5 limits and their vehicles hadn't reduced at all in 2016 (for euro 6) and were 9x the limit.  Most manufacturers had reduced the Nox emissions significantly but only two vehicles were below the Euro 6 limits. (two Minis).  Jeep Grand Cherokee was the worst at 15x the limit.

Could someone say what these Euro 5 & Euro 6 NoX limits are?

NOx limits (passenger cars) -

 

Euro 5 Petrol: 60mg/km

Euro 5 Diesel: 180mg/km

Euro 6 Petrol: 60mg/km

Euro 6 Diesel: 80mg/km

 

mg = milligram = thousandth of a gram

km = kilometer

VW group will be pleased that media focus is becoming more 'shared' with other manufacturers on the NOx issues, could we speculate?

As i keep telling you, they are the corrupt, liars and cheats that are pleading guilty to things they are guilty of and trying to use weasel words and actions to 

get out of what they think they can.

Look at the dates the did they testing on and you should be able to answer that question for yourself.

Was Renault not raided a year ago by the authorities over this?

I understand Real World Emissions (RWE) testing commences this year....world wide.

We'll see.

look where at the dates they were tested, i read what io1901 posted, i thought 'Which' tested 278 vehicles,   So when was that, not recently?

The bar chart indicates that the blue bars were for tests done in 2009, and the orange in 2014.

Sorry lost me now, if 'Which' and others knew in 2009 and 2014 that they were so high why make a big deal now?

In all probability, Renault would be in the same position as VW are now if they still sold cars in the USA. I bet they're glad they don't have a market presence there now. Likewise Fiat Chrysler are probably safe while the US authorities try to figure out if they're a US firm or a European one.

These look similar to the results that have been seen when diesel cars have been tested outside the normal measuring parameters ie with the ambient air temperature well outside the temperature used in the current standard test and therefore it is quite old news.

 

Car manufacturers are gearing up for the new real world test but when Renault were challenged over this a year ago they did acknowledge that NOX levels could be much higher in lower (and much higher) ambient air temperatures ie in the temperature experience in Northern France in winter and the started a program of tweaking the emission control software to perform better at lower temperatures and this is being offered and routinely done at servicing times.

Euro 6 B and C require the software that controls emission limits to be much better and it is looking increasing like  any Euro 4, 5 and 6 diesel vehicles (unless tweaked and certified to be at Euro 6C, will not be allowed in large urban areas, or pay a heavy penalty, so what marque they are does matter just that they have the necessary level of Euro emission certification which can be enforced in LEZ/ULEZ via number plate recognition or the sticker system they have in many countries.
