Seat version of the Kodiaq

Featured Replies

I'm not entirely surprised as VW already have the Tiguan Allspace ready for release... Perhaps the new Yeti will be the same dimensions as the Tiguan/Ateca, then VW, Skoda and Seat will have small and medium sized SUV's.

The new Yeti is going to be a rebadged Ateca but better in my opinion.

The Yeti Replacement might be very much the same dimensions as the Ateca, or as near as damn it,

but then the VW Tiguan is not the same dimensions as a Ateca, the VW being a ickle bigger again.

Not that it will matter to those they buy into the Superior VW Image...

Reliability, better future values, or not as it might be.

Here's a few dimensions.

Ateca    4363x1841
Tiguan    4464x1839

Octavia 4659x1814
Kodiaq    4698x1882

Tiguan Allspace 4701x1839

Q3    4388x1831
Q5    4663x1893
Q7    5052x1968

I expect the Yeti will slot in between the first two, but we will have to wait and see.

I took the Ateca out the other day and was very impressed. Cheaper and nicer than the Tiguan. The 1.4tsi was very nippy and refined. I think the Ateca is made at the same place as the Kodiaq . So the Ateca is built by Skoda for Seat . Very impressive built quality too. All nice cars but need to look at the Kodiaq again.

Interesting comparisons....

Since the Kodiaq can't pull 2500kg in a decent spec or with a decently powerful engine (because they're all the more limited 7 seat 2000kg Max versions in the UK!) we're hoping the Tiguan all space will keep it's excellent tow weight and 7 seats. Cake and eat it springs to mind...

Not bothered about badge prestige and happy to buy VW, Merc, BMW if Skoda are unable to sell the car I want!

Looking forward to confirmed (official) weights for the bigger VW.   I like the fronts of them.
