Chev diesel Cruze ......pity it's so boring

Featured Replies

Those quoted fuel consumption figures are dreadful for what we expect. Funny how they think it is refined when it has a European GM engine but Volkswagens aren't good enough. Nepotism on the part of the US car industry?

3.78 Litres in a US Gallon.  Obviously if your gallon is 4.546 litres the figures are quite good.

10 miles to a litre is quite nice IMO.

.......and U.S. manufacturers get into trouble if the exaggerate their figures......they have to be realistic as opposed to the purely theoretical elsewhere.

Oh yes! I forgot that a US gallon is different from a proper UK gallon! So agree consumption would be different!

Would love to try the 9 speed gearbox  (on a turbo-petrol).

Europe does not want Chevy (Despite being on the Manchester United football shirts), GM/Chevy does not want to be in Europe.

Europe does not want diesels nor does the (US except super clean)

Diesel is 30% better consumption than the petrol but the diesel is much more expensive and slower acceleration of course.

I suppose if you really need a diesel ie towing, very high mileage or something but in the US diesel is often 10% or more than petrol cost in the US....

Where it is the other way round in Europe...

UK it is broadly similar with diesel usually a penny or two more per litre.

I do not tow, can get 1000 Km out of the Dacia petrol on a tank, costs about 30 US cents a mile to run.  Do love a good auto after having a couple of 7 speed DSGs on the Fabia and Octy.
