Map Update, Help!

Featured Replies

My maps are 2015 version, so I have followed instructions step by step to update, and have made a real mess of it, and now have no maps at all!! Overtime I try and copy the downloaded files, its says not enough storage, and now I can't even get the old files back on the card for the same reason. There isn't the option to format the card, I am running a mac system, can anyone help please, would Skoda update it for me?

If you use Mac system that can mess up a few things like put hidden data on the card

Check this link and it might help to sort out the problem. 1st post on page 4

Skoda can do the update but unless your garage is very nice they will charge you their hourly rate for doing so.

Assuming you have an Amundsen unit with the Skoda branded SD-card, the info in the link will help you to cleanup the card using a Mac.

If you have access to a Windows computer the update should be more reliable, delete everything, copy new files, done.

To format the card on a Mac go to your applications folder, then to Utilities, then Disk Utility.

Thank You, it's now completely erased, MS-DOS FAT 32, do I now need just the update, or the complete 2017 file?

Just download the update and extract the contents of the zip file to the sd card.

As mentioned above you'll then need to use a program to clean up the files that the Macs leave on the card otherwise it won't work 100% (I found when using my Macbook Pro that the only issue I had was the road numbers/street names didn't work due to the Mac added files)

I tried all ways with the mac, even went to my local Skoda dealer this afternoon, and they weren't much help. Eventually borrowed a laptop running windows, and hey presto its worked! Thank you everyone for your patience and help.....
