Bluetooth frustration....!

Featured Replies

Anyone had any bother with the BT module in their Octavia?

My car is a 2011 CR170 DSG VRS, came with Nav and BT.

Basically, quite often I get no sound through the speakers when trying to make or receive a call.

Sometimes if I delete the phone and re-pair it from scratch it's fine, other times I cant get it to work at all, most of the time it makes the call on the handset, person picks up but no sound through the speakers and I have to switch it to the phone speaker on the phone itself which is obviously no good, other times it will work fine.   No obvious pattern or anything.

The phone is a 2016 Motorola Moto-X Play.

Just wondering if I should be looking to upgrade the Bt module to a newer version or something?

Any advice?

Would be worth trying with another bluetooth equipped phone and seeing if the situation changes.

Other than that, checking physical connections but your problem doesn't sound like that given it works sometimes.

Could you try recoding the bt module if a different phone does the same thing. What bt module part no is it?

Thanks for the reply.

Actually done some reading up on a Motorola owners forum today and there's loads of people having the same issue with Moto X/G phones and a simple workaround sorts it, you have to disable "bluetooth scanning" under "location" on the phone and it works fine.     You will know if you have this issue if under "bluetooth" when you click on "Skoda" the "phone audio" check box is unchecked and you are unable to check it.

May be useful for others, i'm just happy to have a workaround until they fix it with an update!

Cheers!

Well that is a result.  It did sound a bit like a compatibility issue, which is why I suggested trying a different phone to see if it changed, but your further research has proved worthwhile!
