Demonstration drive

Featured Replies

Had a drive of Kodiaq 1.8 petrol today and it felt like an overgrown Yeti. Comfortable, quiet, smooth and powerful. Wanted to see how it drove after reading rave reviews. Not sure if it was 'salesman's puff' but he told me that each dealer only has 40 Kodiaqs allocated this year so no discounts or deals to be done.

Still prefer a 4.2 metre long car so Ateca or next year's new Yeti for me.

Will believe the only 40 per dealer thing the first time I hear a dealer turning down an order!

If it is not true, its consistent across the brand dealers ... not something that's common ;)

I would like to know how you got to drive a 1.8 though :tongueout:

Was that a 2.0 TSI 180ps petrol?

Oops, I think I should have said '1.4, 150ps', sorry - senior moment!

As for the dealer allocation, I believe the exact amount varies between dealers, but fairly sure there is a limit.

What we don't know, is how many any particular dealer is likely to sell anyways, given no caps.

Discounts are hard to come by, but some people have managed it. (not me :()

I don't think any orders will be turned down, but once their allocation has gone they will have to quote longer lead times. It's quite believable, the factory has struggled in the past to cope with demand on certain models so this would make sense.

My dealer said they had an allocation of 50 and had sold about 40. They aren't allowed to discount at all and the sales of the Kodiaq don't count towards their targets either. Harsh.

I tried a 2.0 TDi 4x4 Edition DSG with a load of extras in dark grey. Very nice.
