The double fakra connector is the connection for your ariel thats all one is!,  for fm and the other is am , not realiy necessary , i have just the one lead plugged in !, my unit has the extra DSP , for boosting

Thanks Rayban. I didn't know we had separate ariels for AM and FM. I thought one was for DAB which didn't make sense because I'm planning on going to Audiotechdirect for mine and they've recommended some other sort of adaptor to merrythought my oem aerial. I don't know what ips and dts are so I probably don't need them

Afaik the double fakra is not for AM+FM, but is really 2 antenna's. the Skoda supplied head unit can switch between them for antenna diversity + smooth switching. Using one also works.

Both will carry FM for diversity. One will also carry AM :-)

I would strongly recommend you do what Audiotechdirect advises and get an adaptor to connect both diversity aerials.  I had a chinese headunit that used only one aerial and FM reception was very poor.  I switched to an Audiotechdirect android unit that used both aerials and reception is now OK.

Thanks a Chapman. I intend getting my unit from Audiotechdirect. I'm after a 9" one but can't decide which one to go for as yet. I'll be giving them a ring this week

I assume you've seen

Olduns bought a 9" android HU from ATD.

I've seen that thanks and read it a few times

Integration

Rear parking sensors work fine as does the air con, heated seats etc, steering wheel controls also worked fine. Only issue I had was the little car picture showing the wrong front door open however this is easily swappped in the settings menu. The unit does not communicate with Maxidot at all.

Is it just the Sat Nav instructions you lose with Maxidot?
