Your Road to Rapid.

My first car was at the age of 17 was a 1998 R reg VW polo, 1.0l. In silver. Was a great first car and was where my interest and love for VAG motors started.

 

Next up was my 2001 Y reg Peugeot 106 Quicksilver, my only non VAG car. Bought it when I was 19. It was a fun modding project and I kept it for nearly 6 years. Probably the most fun car to drive I've had. 

 

My third car was my 2nd Polo a 52 plate 1.2s. A solid wee car, it was a bit pathetic at motorway speeds but I lived in Aberdeen at the time and 90% of the time I was driving in the city. Sold it after 4 years ownership.

 

Fourth car was my SEAT Ibiza 1.4 formula sport, 57 plate. A bit more engaging to drive than the previous Polo was and a very reliable car. Bought it just before I met my Mrs. If I had crystal balls and not hairy ones I would of gotten a five door instead as we landed up with a baby quite quickly... 

 

Which leads me to the 63 plate Rapid 1.2 TSI 86 . It is perfect for our needs as a family, huge boot and economical. Probably the best all round car I've owned.

 

Plan to keep it 3-4 years then probably another Skoda as caught the bug real bad. Another Rapid or spaceback next time, maybe an octy..

2 - Skoda Rapid 136 - such good fun to drive

3 - Ford Grandada 2.0l automatic - big beast of a car

4 - Ford Orion 1.6l - leaked like a sieve

5 - Fiat Punto 1.2 - my first brand new car

6 - Vauxhall Astra 1.6 SXi 3-door

7 - Vauxhall Vectra 1.8i with springs by Silentnight - big comfy car but handled like a bed

8 - Honda Civic 1.8 EX - 8th gen - best car since the Rapid

9 - Honda Civic 1.8 ES - 9th Gen - not a patch on the previous model and traded after 18 months

10 - Skoda Rapid 1.2 TSi SE Greentec - definitely in my top 3 of cars owned
