Used to title myself Dieseldogg (I think), anyway I lost my password, changed email addresses etc post retirement, so simpler to start afresh.

 

I Own a Sept 2010 Octavia 1.6TDI/DSG Hatchback, bought new, to be "run-till-done", currently at 106,000 miles, & hope to get 200,000 plus.

 

No mods or titivation, since it is but a means of transport, but it gets properly (but only perSkoda schedule) serviced.

 

It also gets washed once a year for the MOT.

Welcome back again.  That pretty much sums up an Octavia, a no-nonsense, practical car that should run forever!

Yep they defo keep on running. My octavia 1.9 tdi 2002 had 236k on it before doing head gasket in and I just added some ABRO to the radiator and it drove another 65k before lying down. Not many diesel cars get 300k on the engine. Octavias are bulletproof if serviced regularly.

I had to re-re-re-register, again,again,again like, since my new email address for Dieseldogg was not recognised after moderator merging of my old and new usernames.

@marcusthehat I think the problem was that your email addresses were very similar and maybe you'd got cached passwords.

Anyway as previously mentioned, two accounts are not allowed so due to you wanting to keep the new one (and the recent problems!), you have had your accounts merged again but this time it will look as if you have only just joined - but with a sizeable post count. Hopefully we're firing on all cylinders again?
