Matt - didn't you get the dealer you are buying the car from to sort out some mats free of charge for you? Always push for mats and mud flaps as a minimum in terms of freebies to sweeten the deal. 

I totally agree you can only squeeze so much in the money stakes..then its what "extras" can you push for & discount & free fit on accessories ...comes as a last resort ?

Firstly my experience with this first order from SuperSkoda has been excellent. Paid with PayPal. Very straight forward order and everything arrived within two weeks. They also communicated well. I suspect if something is not right that returns might be hard work given that they are in Check. But for me it has gone well. I will use them again.

 

Secondly, I did a great deal of negotiating with my new car order, I had about £500 negative equity on my current car, which was written off and they covered the £195 cost for the corida red paint. I was happy with this, and therefore happy to buy my own mats.

 

 

My experience with Superskoda was awful. Took ages to arrive (long past their due to be delivered estimate) and when questioned about it all I could get from them was "check the tracking in your own country". It took a paypal claim for anything to happen, then finally my stuff turned up. In the meantime I got in touch with Briskoda Spares from this forum and found they had the item in stock, and it was cheaper from them anyway. Guess where I buy from now?

I bought a bumper protector from Superskoda, no issues.

My order included a boot sill protector. My current car is a mess after loading the kids scooters etc in and out over the years (actually more to do with letting them do the loading and unloading!). How did you find the installation? It looks pretty straight forward, just a bit of work on the prep, cleaning the area and lining it up properly.

I'd appreciate any tips though.

I found it pretty easy, but I'm fairly handy with things like that.

 

As you said, take time on the prep.  Use Autoglym Tar & glue remover and / or detailing clay to remove bonded contaminants and get the surface smooth as glass before using the provided alcohol wipe.

 

I also found it useful to mark out where I wanted it to go with masking tape before sticking it on.
