Inside locking switch easy to remove

Featured Replies

Hi

locking switch on console locks doors ok but a pig to unlock is this a easy switch to replace or could it be something else wrong ideas welcome many thanks

The switch is really easy to replace. I need to do mine. If you open the ashtray, pull up the gear stick surround, you can just about get your hand in to be able to get at the switch.

A firm press from above in the middle of the switch will push it inside the console.  you can get the switch to the aperture the gear stick is in, and disconnect the loom.

The switch part no is 1Z0962125A. I'm going to have to replace mine soon too when I can get hold of a replacement.

Yes, I did mine without removing the console as well, although, I had to do it through the switch aperture and from the underside of the console due to all the DSG surrounds and gaitors being a pig to remove.  It took quite a while and a variety of implements.   If I could of worked out how to actually remove the side panels of the console without fearing ripping them off it probably would of been quicker for me.

If yours is a manual it will probably be a doddle by the sounds.

I bought a new switch but I probably could of got by by removing it and cleaning it up with contact cleaner spray. From memory, the genuine part was about £20 and there were copies on ebay under £10.
