It all come down to what you call engine note. Induction kits will make it louder, and IMO they change the sound a bit too. My car got a hell of a lot louder, and sounded much better at high revs with a cone filter. Previously (so long ago now) it sounded like it was about to explode when I went over 4500rpm, now I can hit the 6900rpm redline and it sounds like it wants to keep going.
