Ordered a new yeti

As I suspected the dealer has made an absolute mess of this. I received a phone call from the salesman today telling me that the original order had not been fully processed and so Skoda never received it and there are no further orders being taken. I asked about the availability of stock vehicles and he was going to look at what was available.

Unfortunately as my order was placed through motability and the Yeti is no longer listed on their site he was unsure whether they would accept a new order for this model.

Skoda UK have given me a case number but I have no idea how this is going to end up.

Feel for you  A /C does it again there useless hope you can still get a Yeti.

What a bloody shambles! I've been following your unfortunate experience.

I would very definitely be going to see the Dealer Principal, and talking about visiting my solicitor!

delmac, pity you never mentioned earlier that it was Motability Finance purchasing the Yeti.

ARNOLD CLARK in Perth did similar to me a few years back over a Fiat that i was ordering while production was still being done,

and i made everyone in the Sales Department understand i was buying using Motability Finance as i wanted a keeper and it was not a Motability Lease.

Motability approved the finance.

I was prepared for the 8 week wait, even 16 weeks, and checking with ARNOLD CLARK Perth after 2 months had then the build was due soon etc.

Turned out after lots of lies and me contacting FIAT UK that were no help, then FIAT in Milan that there was no order, no build date and no chance of the car as production and orders had stopped before i ever ordered from ARNOLD CLARK.

It's bad enough having those sorts of problems during normal production but at this time i.e. approaching end of production and better specs. etc. I really feel your pain and anger.

I hope you get sorted but there must be very few stock cars available now.

The problem is that Motability no longer have the Yeti available on their list.

When you go in and make the order from the available spec of car the paperwork is agreed on the Dealerships indicated delivery time.

All is signed and sealed and the Password to sign to release the money on hand over is out to the customer etc.

If one can be had from stock it is very unusual for Motability Finance to purchase that one after that model is no longer on the list of available models.

I have all the paperwork and the password from Motability so the purchase was approved so I'm not sure where I will stand with them.

?

Can you say which branch of ARNOLD CLARK?

Who was telling these lies to you on Friday about ships delayed and all this nonsense on a car not even ordered?

Was someone covering for the Motability Trained Sales Executive, and are they saying that he / she has now left ARNOLD CLARK's employment?

*for anyone not familiar with MOTABILITY buying a car, it is bought outright, MOTABILITY FINANCE own them, and lease to the customer.*

The salesperson that orders on behalf of a customer with Motability is supposed to be tracking that order, delivery date etc as the insurance and hand back of another car from Motability if the customer has one is all very important, as is any car order,

but MOTABILITY tightened up on everything in the past few years.

It is all really supposed to be a simple process from the Customer sitting down, choosing the car from the list, the price is there, the customers deposit due on collection and any things the customer chooses to pay extra, then off to Motability,

and as soon as checked and approved the Salesperson places the Order if a Factory Build, gets the build date etc.

Confirms order made with customer.

Are Motability agreeing to you getting a YETI if SKODA UK can find you one that will satisfy the requirements of Motability?

I think that the dealer has concluded a contract with you and that you are entitled to insist they perform their part of it. they must find a 1.2 SEL -or better for you and unravel the mistake they have made. They have access to all Skoda stock and can seek a car from any other dealer at their expense and get it to you. Prospect sourced a choice of 1.2 dsg drive sels for me to choose from so can they -you may have to accept another colour for example but they can be compelled by the court if necessary to fulfill their contractual obligation. Go hard and watch what they do.

There has been a clear Breach of Contract. My strong advice would be to turn it over to a solicitor without further ado, and instruct them to sue whoever is responsible. Give them all the facts, and go from there.

Include ALL the inconvenience,  hassle, time and lost use of this ordered vehicle, and all your personal costs incurred.

Otherwise, you're just going to be pushed from pillar to post.

It's time to take the gloves off.

Called the dealership again earlier today. When I asked for an update was told that today was the salesman's day off. Spoke with the manager instead who stated there are no suitable stock cars available. When I told him this was not the information I was given on Monday he decided to actually check and lo and behold there were available Yeti's of the SEL Drive spec. He said he would go and make a call and then call me back. Guess what? That's right. No call back.

I am just off the phone to Skoda UK and a case manager will be contacting the branch tomorrow and he will then update me. I have told them that if the situation is not resolved to my satisfaction asap then I will be contacting a solicitor and going legal.

I will keep you updated.

What have MOTABILITY said?

What was the expected delivery date given by the salesperson when you filled in the Application?

The Pre Contract Information is from Motability Operations,

and when you sign at hand over the Hire Agreement for the lease is with Motability Operations.

Hi Awayoffski, I have not contacted Motability as yet. They authorised the lease back in March and it was then up to the retailer to fulfil their commitment. I will contact them if AC refuse to do so. The original date for handover was May 17th.

You need to.

They get such a discount from Skoda.

When you sign the finance papers you would not believe what they pay, unless you have seen that already.

My cars full RRP was £27,048

Motability Operations paid £22,540.

Result!

As an ex-group after-sales manager of the largest VW/Audi group in Europe don't get me started on the abysmal After-sales service dished up to today's motoring public. It disgusts me. All driven by the sheer greed for profit from Head Office's. If you have a quality After-sales experience then cherish it and use it - don't lose it.

Same colour that I got with mine back in March, you should be happy with both the colour and the spec, the run out Drive models are very good value indeed, all that I was looking for last year was a reasonable spec which included heated seats and a digital radio, features which all of the Drive models have as standard now but the deals at the time on the L & K models were just too hard to resist!
