What are everyone's recommendations for Tyres on a VRS? I've got rainsport 3s on the front that are due a change and I'm not overly impressed with how quickly they have worn, I would still be tempted by a second set for grip but would like to know your opinions.

Uniroyal rainsport 3's are good but do wear easy , conti's are ok I've used dunlops aswell and they are really good  , also run prestivo for a while and they didn't wear out that fast

If you can get Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta I highly recommend them. Great grip wet or dry and predictable too if you drive them to their limits. Only tyre I rate better is the Michelin Pilot Sports which cost a far amount more and only edge the the Vredesteins in tyre life which is still good anyway.

Vote for the Michelin PS3.

Any opinions on Goodyear eagle f1's or Avon zz5? Both more readily available and in my price range

Currently have Michelin PS3's on the front of my vRS and would certainly recommend them. Had some Eagle F1's put on my girlfriends last weekend and so far they seem pretty decent, they stick to the ground when you give it beans anyway.

I had the Goodyear Eagle F1's on my Brera for three years. Nice tyre, good in all weathers, showed very little wear after 8K miles.

The Avons have been popular over the years.

You will find a fair few posts on New tyres for Mk2 Fabia vRS in the Tyre Section if you have a look there as well.

I shall go and do a search later for more input. Thanks for all the replies though.

I've just started running Bridgestone Potenza RE003's. Very impressive, I wouldn't have believed a tyre could improve handling so noticeably. It's cut the amount of flashing amber lights and wheelspin, even allowing for the fact they're newer than the tyres they replaced (Dunlop Direzza DZ102).

I don't mind the OEM Dunlops either, but the Bridgestones were available on a four for the price of three deal, and what was going to be two front tyres replaced turned into all four...

I have THREE A on mine. Theyre a decent mid range tyre at about £50 each. Really quiet, give me good MPG, really good in the wet. I'll be sticking with them in the future.

Hankook v12 evo on sons, 215/40/17 all round. Hard wearing and long lasting, decent in rain, but very much a summer tyre. Grip better on warm/hot days.
