Towing a caravan and DCC

Featured Replies

I am trying to find out if my car has DCC, but on the basis that it does, does anyone have any knowledge of towing with a car equipped with DCC?

Is it a wise thing to do or not, ie, hitching a caravan to a DCC equipped car will it break the suspension or can it handle it.

There's no difference in towing capacity or towball limit between regular and DCC equipped cars and I've towed a caravan since new without issue.  I usually tow in normal mode and flip to sport if the road is particularly uneven to limit wobbling.

Personally I wouldn't pay for DCC if it hadn't come as standard on my spec as I rarely bother changing modes.

I do have a squeak in the front suspension bushes but that's not towing related as I tow with the back of the car ;)

Hi,

we tow a Coachman 520/4 ( max weight 1500 kg ) our settings  in dcc,- Steering,- sport. Gears ,- normal.,Suspension,- sport. Did find ( on a motorway ) the steering seemed " light" well anyway i did not like it, so tried " sport " . Have now done 3000 + miles towing . Only complaint -- tyres - little grip on wet grass !
