Hi all!

 

i've been reading this forum since I became and owner of the 2012 Škoda Superb Combi DSG Elegance a few months ago. My car didn't have a factory fitted bluetooth unit so the previous owner got a Fiscon Bluetooth module. Everything was OK but I couldn't get the phonebook to the unit, always saying "Temporarily unavailable" and under recent calls and unanswered calls I had some weird letters/signs without any meaning. After talking to the dealer that installed the unit we came to an conclusion that the unity is faulty and that is a very common problem with this units so it should be sent back to the factory, where they would flash the firmware again (weird but OK). This comes at a cost of 70€ and roughly a month without the unit.

 

Because I have an Amundsen+ radio I wanted to enable the built in bluetooth, which my device has. I connected to the car with VCDS to find out that the internal Amundsen+ module has allready been enabled and I can't disable it. Coding is accepted but when you reopen the long coding the tick is removed from the bit where it says that the internal bluetooth module inactive. You can see which bit I mean on the picture below (VCDS screenshoot, but not from my car).

Coding with VAG-Com (VCDS) VCDS can also be used for coding. The following coding values are available for VW vehicles so far. Address 19 – CAN-Gateway needs to be coded to Telephone. More is visible on the picture below. What do I have to do to remove the coding for Fiscon? I went to address 19 CAN Gateway -> Install list (drop down) and removed the tick at option 77 Telephone. Is this it or do I have to do anything else? What are the bytes and bits in the table. In CAN Gateway long coding I only have bytes 0, 1 and 2. No bytes 3 and 5 

 

I've also attached a photo of a fault, when the Fiscon has still been connected to the CAN network in the car. Later I've disconected it and the fault went away so there has also been a problem with coding.

You need to update your VCDS system. 17.1.3 is now the current version.

Hi. That is not an optionat at the moment and I'm not sure that a newer version of VCDS would solve my problems.

 

Any other suggestions? No one here never coded a Fiscon Bluetooth module and could give me an advice?

 

I'm currently using amudsens internal Bluetooth and is working ok aside from poor microphones quality but I think that is because I have a cheap chinese microphone while I'm waiting for a VW original microphone. Everything is working great with integration to MaxiDot displayed as well. I just want to avoid any unnecessary battery drain due to bad coding.

When it comes to VCDS, site policy is not to support third party cables with VCDS - these are generally only able to run older (generally cracked) versions of the software which is why Rustynuts asked about updating.

Getting to a local Škoda dealer for coding is not a problem or to someone with official VCDS gear but going somewhere is useless without knowing what needs to be done, that is why I asked for help because I don't understand the instructions from Fiscon and I really dont want to drive 200 km to the dealership, where they built in the module,just to disable or enable one bit.

take it to someone from the Vcds owners list who will have a genuine Vcds product but as you say without knowing what to do when connected that is not much help.

They of course could ask the forum for help though.

Do the installation instructions for the Fiscon module contain coding instructions? If they do, then following them in reverse should work. Alternatively, if you can find someone with a standard Amundsen setup like yours and copy their coding, it should work.

 

A current version of VCDS will have the long-coding helper too which should provide information on each part of the coding block and make it easier to figure out what's going on.
