Inner steering rods.

Hi there,

           Just got round to replacing inner steering rods on my 2009 mk1 roomster, got the osf rod off to be replaced by the new one however new one looks to be bigger thread size and does not fit rack, I think I have read that 2 different steering racks were fitted to these cars over the production run the serial no on the old rods are WD318J06, I looked up that number on Google but no joy !, can anyone help on this one ?                  ps the new rods are borg and beck  BTR 5166
