Coolant bottle crumbling

Recommended Posts

I'll have a look at mine and take a photo but I don't recall it looking like that. It almost looks like stress markings in the photos...  Taken an impact? Is it facing the outer side of the car...

Hi, it is there is nothing else around it. It might have been like that for a while, I did have a new engine fitted about2 1/2 years ago but not noticed it then. I was giving the engine bay a clean round.

This is mine. There is just a hint of it starting on mine.  6 years old, 43k miles.  Like said by previous poster, probably replace yours if the problem is to any significant depth.

Yes, seems fair enough or DIY if you like that sort of thing. Looks like the bottle is about £20 - if this description is correct.

Should only be 20 minute job. Suck out the old coolant and re-use or top up with new in the right mix G12/G13. Either way, you'll only be getting a small quantity replaced if it is just the reservoir they're refilling..
