vRS springs and 312mm brakes?

Featured Replies

Hi

I've just had Eibachs fitted and was thinking of selling my standard springs. How much would they be worth as I've had them on the car for a little over 17k miles and they're now sitting in the Eibachs box doing nothing?

Also if I was to upgrade my brakes to the 312mm kit would they fit under the standard wheels as I don't fancy changing them anytime soon.

Cheers

Not sure about the springs, but the 312's fit under the standard 16's with no problems. Tight, but fine.

Cheers thought so but while I was at APS this morning they weren't sure as they never fit the Golf PD130 they have, the rims on the golf must be deeper.

I'd guess the springs aren't worth a whole lot, although you might find a non-vRS driver will make you an offer :D I'd say hang on to them, put the car back to standard before you sell it and sell the Eibachs on :D

I second that... I always keep my stock parts to put back on the car when its trade up time. Dealers prefer standard cars to modded one (as we know).

You'll always be able to sell the upgrade parts on afterwards......... but I do appreciate that money now, no matter how little, is better than lumps of metal lying about in te shed.

I'm just trying to make enough money to go and get other bits for my car and I intend to keep the car for some time especially now as my other half has passed her test, once I've had it for 3 yrs I'll pass it on to her.

I agree with Chris. The springs have little real value. They aren't suitable for a non vRS as the weight rating is different so the only markat for them is another vRS owner who may have a broken one which would probably be a warranty claim anyway.

Yep.........The 312mm disc's fit nicely under the standard vRS Wheels, looks nice the disc fills the wheel up.............and Boy do they make a difference..Do It..

would the standard vrs springs & brakes for that matter fit onto a PD100?

No

Brakes wouldnt..

springs would but are made to carry extra nose weight so would end up with a funny looking car

As Colin says the weight is different for the vRS.

As Colin says the weight is different for the vRS.

Although Andy Ellis is running them on his PD100 and said it improved the car's handling :D
