Help with rear wheel alignment?

Featured Replies

Just had my 2011 Superb serviced, mechanic said both rear tyres were worn on inner and needed replacing, a real shame because the tyres look almost brand new.

Question is, should I take it to local Skoda dealership to get alignment or will the local tyre depot be able to balance/rebalance the rears?

Also got me thinking that these models don't have a spare, would appreciate advice, do I purchase a kit? or purchase a spare wheel and if so type and source please?

Any advice greatly appreciated, thank you.

The Skoda 'space saver' wheel is a 6x16 steel wheel with a 205/55/R16 94V tyre on it. Dealer will have that and the toolkit for a few hundred or you can keep an eye on eBay or local breakers for something.

Definitely take it to a specialist wheel alignment centre - one with a Hunter rig or similar. Google is your friend!

I see you are in Coventry, myself included and a friend of mine also use the wheel alignment centre Oxhill Road Handsworth Bham. About 3 miles from M5 J1. Google it. Tel 0121 523 8600. Recommend you call to book it it. Saturday am available too.

I had my Superb estate 2011 done from them in a Hunter machine. They had to adjust front and back and they have always been the cheapest by far at £40-45 all in. No hidden extras.

I have also had the Octy done there a year or so ago.

Also sorry if this seems like a plug. They have a family tyre shop next door, so maybe you could call ahead and get a quote. Certainly for part worms. Birmingham in general is cheaper than Coventry, probably because there are just so many tyre places to choose from.

Hope you get it sorted.

Stroke of luck. Same guy from Cov went to get another car done today. Focus estate. 4 wheels out needed front and back toe . £40 all in.
