Front seats recline angle

Featured Replies

Hi Everyone,

I'm thinking about buying a used Yeti but can't find any info on how far the front seats, especially the passenger seat, reclines. Will it lie flat or nearly flat? Any comments on how comfortable the seats are and range of adjustments would be really helpful too. Thanks.

Ian

They recline until stopped by the rear seat base hitting the rear of the seat back.

I have occasionally done this when having a short sleep on a journey.

However by no means flat and not something you could realistically sleep on for a long period.

I have on several occasions done this with the passeger seat to fit in some long timbers or similar.

The seats hvae a goodvrange of height adjustment.

The electrically adjustable seat gives exact control of seat base angle and lumbar support and is the best if you can find a Yeti with it fitted.

There are some around like mine where it was specified as an extra when new.

Thanks Ken, appreciate the detailed reply. I assume I need an SEplus or Elegance trim level to get this. Heated seats sounds goo, but is that just the sear pad or the back as well?

On mine the heater elements are in the base and the rear, kidney area.  That is until the driver's base element fails, which it will.

The electrically adjustable seat is a £585 option, not standard in any yeti in Uk. Only available with leather or alcantarra seat.

I've missed having electric seats on some cars as they allow you to adjust the angle of the seat base but don't miss this with the Yeti.

I'm 6'1" and find the manual seats very comfortable.

Well unfortunately I didn't on my first Yeti, couldn't get a perfect position as the angle on the base wasn't right.

Added the optional seat to my current one and it is great.

Even better if more than one regular driver as it adjusts to that drivers key when unlocking the car.

I use setting 3 for a rest stop with the seat back as far as it will set too and base and position set for a snooze.

The back will go down further but will not memorise that position, presumably as unsafe for driving. Then quickly back to exact driving setting when you want to set off again.

Thanks to everyone who's replied. Electric seat certainly sounds worth it if, like me, you are disabled. Unfortunately, I can only afford a used one and need an automatic too, So I guess I'll be lucky to find one with this already fitted. It really annoys me that so little attention is paid to seat comfort and driving position by manufacturers and reviewer alike - and that one has to have and pay for all sorts of stuff one doesn't need/want to get something one does!

There was an option when buying a new yeti for fold-flat front passenger seat. If the original owner spec'd this it will fold completely.
